Australian Privacy Addendum V1.0

If you are using the Unmind platform and live in Australia, then when we collect and use personal information about you, we are subject to Australian privacy laws including the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth) (Privacy Act). This means that we are responsible for protecting your personal information in compliance with the Privacy Act as well as with our own UK data protection legislation.

To ensure that we are protecting your information in line with the Privacy Act, we have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Therefore, we ask that you make some time to read the additional information contained in this privacy addendum alongside our Global Privacy Policy so that you understand your rights and choices relating to your personal information as a resident of Australia.

Our database is hosted by a cloud-based service provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS). This database is located in the European Union (EU) in the Republic of Ireland (RoI). Therefore, Unmind may, for the purposes we tell you about in our Global Privacy Policy, store, process or use your personal information in servers located outside Australia.

Unmind will only ever transfer your information in a manner that aligns with the strictest privacy and security standards including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or similar agreements.

When you sign up to Unmind, we will need to collect your name and email so that we can make sure that you are entitled to an account with us. 

After your sign up, we will endeavour to anonymise or aggregate your details within our database wherever possible and apply appropriate safeguards to ensure that your data is stored in a non-identifiable format. We will only ever share aggregated and anonymised data with your employer. We have an anonymity threshold of six people or more. This means that we will endeavour to ensure that we do not anonymise or aggregate any personal data where there are less than six people within the dataset to prevent the risk of it becoming identifiable again. We will never intentionally share aggregated data unless there were seven or more subjects in the dataset.

When we no longer need your Personal Data, we will permanently and irrevocably anonymise your data so that it can never be used to identify you again.

If we ever receive personal information about you by accident or in any other way that isn’t listed in our Global Privacy Policy, then we will make sure to delete the personal information as soon as we can. We don’t want to collect anything extra about you that we don’t need.

Accessing your information

You have the right to access your information (if we’re processing it) so that you can check we are processing it in alignment with the Privacy Act.

However, before we provide you with access to your personal information, we may need to check that you are who you say you are. It is likely that we will ask you for some form of identification before we provide you with your information. 

Correcting your information

You can correct your personal details from your account settings, but if you’re having trouble, you can contact us and request that we fix any information we hold about you that is incorrect.

If you feel like you have not collected or used your information in a way that isn’t compliant with the Australian Privacy Principles, we encourage you to contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@unmind.com. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
