At Unmind, we're committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the mental health care they need, when they need it. That's why we're thrilled to introduce our latest feature: Self-Pay. Designed to address the challenge of limited mental health care sessions within organizations, Self-Pay empowers users to seamlessly transition into private care, staying connected with the same therapist, and continuing their journey without interruptions.

Why Self-Pay?

Self-Pay addresses a crucial need in corporate wellbeing: the ability to continue care beyond organization-funded session limits. For users, hitting session limits can be challenging, especially when they're in the midst of their mental health journey. Therapy is extremely personal, and building a strong rapport with a therapist is key. Self-Pay allows users to maintain that trust and familiarity, ensuring continuity in care. Additionally, organizations are eager to provide their employees with comprehensive support while managing their wellbeing budget effectively. Self-Pay bridges this gap.

How it works

When a user reaches their corporate-funded session limit, Self-Pay seamlessly transitions them into their practitioner's private practice, ensuring they can continue to receive the support they need without interruption.

  • The process is simple yet effective: once the user decides to move to private care, they are added as a new private client within the practitioner’s platform, streamlining the transition process.
  • Users can make a credit card payment ahead of the session, completely hassle-free.
  • With this new arrangement, practitioners can schedule sessions and accept payments, providing users with a familiar and convenient experience.

Should the user's corporate-funded session balance refresh, they have the flexibility to choose whether to continue with private practice sessions or opt for further Talk sessions within the Unmind app. This flexibility empowers users to tailor their mental health support to suit their evolving needs and preferences, allowing for control and autonomy as they continue their experience with Unmind.
